In autumn 2022 the ERASMUS+ SECUREU project partners organised 6 round table discussions in Latvia, Lithuania, Finland, Spain, the Netherlands and Norway. We convened security and risk management specialists and asked their opinions about matters such as what we should teach to young security specialists, what skills are missing, what the future perspectives and perceived risks are for the security field.
It seems that all countries are trying to cope with similar problems and that the thoughts of the experts about necessary skills of security specialists and of the future of the security field as such are similar as well.
Experts from all the countries highlighted several similarities and skills sets which are important for young security specialists and should be improved – soft skills, strategic thinking and strategic management, better management skills in general, leadership skills. Special attention is required to developing abilities to manage information security, cyber-security, technological and digital literacy.
