Cybermorning at Laurea: A Morning of Insights and Inspiration

On October 23, 2024, at Laurea’s Leppävaara Campus, cybersecurity specialists, students, and lecturers came together for an engaging Cybermorning event. Held both online and in person, the event offered attendees the opportunity to explore key topics in cybersecurity and learn about the ERASMUS+ SECUREU project and its outcomes.

As part of the event, Dr. Karen Neville from University College Cork delivered a presentation titled, “How the DYNAMO Developing Resilience Education, Training, and Awareness (RETA) Simulation Tool will contribute to the training of cybersecurity skills?” Dr. Neville’s expertise in resilience-building captivated the audience and sparked lively discussions.

Pipsa Havula, Editor-in-Chief of Faktabaari, followed with an insightful presentation on “Knowledge and skills everyone needs today to survive the information chaos on the web.”

Rounding off the event was Kaci Bourdache, who shared key findings from the SECUREU project, which surveyed security experts across six European countries. The presentation highlighted the evolving skills and expertise that future security professionals will need to address emerging threats.

This Cybermorning event was one of the final dissemination activities of the SECUREU project, where partners shared the results and tools developed through the collaboration. Approximately 70 participants—including students, lecturers, and professionals from the security field—took part in the event, both online and on campus.
